    新机预计配备8.4英寸OLED屏幕，取代现款采用的LCD面板，屏幕预计仍采用LTPS技术，刷新率维持在60Hz，因此大概率不会支持ProMotion自适应高刷新率。    尽管刷新率没有明显提升，但OLED屏相比LCD拥有更高对比度、更纯净的黑色显示效果，同时在功耗控制方面也更具优势。    目前，苹果已率先在iPad Pro产品线上普及OLED屏幕，2024年5月发布的新款iPad Pro便首次换用OLED面板，而iPad mini、iPad Air以及入门款iPad目前仍使用LCD屏幕。    不过，OLED面板成本通常高于LCD，这也意味着新一代iPad mini的起售价存在上涨可能。    除屏幕升级外，新一代iPad mini另一大看点是防水能力。    消息称，苹果正在为新机重新设计机身结构，使其具备更强的防水能力，如果最终落地，其将成为苹果旗下首款支持防水的iPad产品。     目前，苹果在售的所有iPad均未提供官方防水等级，苹果也不建议用户在浴室、泳池边等容易接触水的环境中使用。    新一代iPad mini加入防水设计后，将进一步拓展平板在厨房、浴室、户外等潮湿环境中的使用场景，同时也能降低日常泼溅带来的损坏风险。
